Giving Back to the Community

Since starting our "Giving Back to the Community" project in November 2009 the employees at City Plumbing, Heating & Electric have had the opportunity to learn about 27 different non-profit organizations in our area.  Learning about these different programs has been fun and interesting and at times difficult and eye opening.

We recently had the opportunity to hear about a newer organization in our area, The Safe Haven Shelter for Women and Children.  Did you know the Hot Springs School District categorized 425 children in their system alone as homeless?

The goal of the Safe Haven Shelter for Women and Children is to provide a safe and comfortable shelter for homeless women and children in the Garland County area.  The staff and volunteers of Safe Haven Shelter are working diligently to open a facility that will house at least 100 women and children and provide temporary shelter for up to 120 days.

City Plumbing, Heating & Electric is so proud to make our $1,150.00 December donation to such a worthwhile organization.   This brings our "Giving Back to the Community" total to over $31,000.00!  We look forward to seeing great things from the Safe Haven Shelter and are very excited to see what help and opportunities we can contribute to our January recipient, The Ouachita Children's Center!
